fave album

girl talk's "feed the animals"
released november 2008

Gregg Gillis - the one-man-act of girl talk - is a musical genius in my eyes. the way he mixes songs is so ridiculously effortless in each of the songs on the album. each track flows into the other, like at the end u begin to hear the beat of the next. and every single song that he changes to, i seem to love more and more. it's like as the album progresses, it only gets better!

not only can u dance to this music all night long - because it sounds like one entire night of dj'ing, but i found it quite fun to drive to on long, boring trips - especially when ur in the everglades of florida. keeps u awake and alive everytime!

lifestyle...

after doing some research, i found it quite hard to eve think of "lifestyle" stores in miami. here, we are surrounded by so many nightclubs, bars, beaches, and boobs it's hard to spot the coolest indie places, or any at all for that matter. i feel like i am blinded by spike heels, mini dresses, and house music every time i go outside...
but i did find a great website called the talent farm. it's a concert venue, recording&rehearssal studio, virtual advertising space, fan website, concert webcaster and blog all in one. located in pembroke pines, which is about 15-20 minutes south of campus. im found a great acoustic indie sound from a band called backseat goodbye (www.myspace.com/backseatgoodbye). they are performing at the talent farm feb 20. check it outttttt
